My cat only eats chicken, but is active and drinks. Is this okay?

I would recommend taking Lilly to the veterinarian to have her looked at. Sometimes when cats are not feeling well they start acting differently. I'm so sorry to hear that Lily has not been eating. I would recommend trying canned tuna, chicken broth, and buying one each of several flavors of cat food to entice most kitties to eat. Unfortunately, sometimes not eating is not due to pickiness or a lack of interest in flavor, but due to sickness. The body will start to break itself down to use for energy after only 24 hours without nutrition. A week is too long for her to go without eating safely and I would recommend taking Lily to her vet to be evaluated. I hope this helps.

This is in fact a concerning sign in cats as inappetence can be observed with conditions such as pancreatitis, kidney disease (most likely chronic in nature), dietary indiscretion and diabetes, just to mention a few possibilities. Cats can develop serious illness when they stop eating. This is known as hepatic lipidosis which is directly related to anorexia. I recommend that if Nutmeg is not eating by tomorrow morning, to have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. The sneezing could indicate a respiratory infection. There are lots of health reasons for her symptoms and Lilly really should see her veterinarian as soon as possible to have her evaluated and treated. Your veterinarian will do an exam and may recommend additional testing such as blood work or x-rays to pin down a cause so Lilly can get the treatment she needs and start to feel better.

Hi there and thanks for posting on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Bobo's symptoms do sound concerning. There can be many medical causes for decreased appetite, decreased thirst and lethargy. There is really nothing that can be done for at home for this without getting a diagnosis first from Bobo's veterinarian. I would recommend he see his veterinarian asap for an exam and evaluation. He may need blood work, x-rays, or other diagnostics as needed. I hope this helps!

She is at the age where her food intake will naturally decrease because she no longer needs the three meals a day regimen she was getting as a younger kitten. The only thing I would keep an eye on is her urination habits. If she is urinating more and it has a foul odor to it, you may want to get her checked for a UTI.
