My cat hides on the couch, eats fast, and acts paranoid. What's wrong?

It sounds like something is making your cat nervous or scared. When we have a change in behavior, we have to ask is it only behavior, or is there a medical reason. A trip to your veterinarian for an exam and possible lab work would help to make sure there are no other concerns. I would recommend having Lilly see a veterinarian. I would want to make sure it isn't medically related and more related to having the other cats gone. If they don't see anything medically going on I would recommend making sure you are spending extra quality time with her doing things she loves and then discussing medication with your vet. Loss of appetite can be caused by general pain, intestinal issues such as a foreign body or parasites, and infections. I recommend keeping a close eye on Piper, if you are concerned that his energy and appetite are low, there is valid reason for him to be seen by his vet. Cats are actually somewhat of a prey species, so they are very good at hiding illnesses. I recommend keeping a close eye on Hobbes, and having her seen by a vet if this continues for the next 2 days or so. There may be a medical reason why she is not eating very much- dental or oral disease, parasitic infection, kidney or liver disease, pancreatitis, or other causes could all be possibilities. Hello. It does sound like some event occurred to him. You indicate he is eating, which is good, but are you sure he is using the litter box, especially urinating? If not, this might be a concern. Sometimes when there is a personality change, it is best to first rule out the possibility of an underlying illness or injury. If he is eating & you are sure he is having no difficulties urinating, just watch him over the weekend, but consider having him examined sometime next week if he still seems off. The sneezing could indicate a respiratory infection. There are lots of health reasons for her symptoms and Lilly really should see her veterinarian as soon as possible to have her evaluated and treated. Your veterinarian will do an exam and may recommend additional testing such as blood work or x-rays to pin down a cause so Lilly can get the treatment she needs and start to feel better.
