My female cat isn't pregnant after mating. Is it him or her?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | British Longhair | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 6 months old

I have a male cat who has had a litter with my female cat last year but this year he has had intercourse with her but she has not fell pregnant. Can some male cats only get the female pregnant once. Is it him or her.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding your cats. Cats are able to become pregnant by the same cat for multiple litters. Both cats would need to be evaluated by a veterinarian to determine if a fertility issue is to blame and to determine which cat has the problem. This is fine to do now or you can allow them to mate during her next cycle. I hope this information helps!
