Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 14 years old | 13 lbs
My cat has lost a lot of weight and he will not eat. I can't afford a vet. I need help now. He is miserable. What can I do to help him?

You are correct to be concerned that Spencer could develop a liver problem due to not eating. You have tried a lot at home to get him to eat, and because it's not working, he should see a vet. If the shelter is having an event today, you can try driving by there to see if you can get help from them, or you can take him into a vet yourself. If paying for a vet is an issue, you can see if your vet accepts payment plans, if there is a low cost clinic in your area, or you can apply for Care Credit online. There is also an organization called Red Rover that give grants for treatment of sick animals, and you can see if you qualify for one of their grants.
