My senior cat is in pain, vomiting, losing weight. What should I do?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | 15 years and 7 months old | 9 lbs

My question is about my 15 year old cat Angel she is an inverted calico Siamese mix and she is in a lot of pain in back and back Legs !!! She isn't gaining weight and is skinny !!! She is throwing up a lot and is brown liquid !!! She is eating and drinking good !!! She can no longer get in her litter box so I ha e puppy pads down for herAngAnd what food should she and my other 2 senior cats be eating so they don't throw uptake to be person at your place and said get could help me forfreemkraus

Ange is very sick and she cannot be treated at home. I'm afraid she has something serious like cancer causing her symptoms. Please take her into a vet immediately. If paying for a vet is an issue, you can see if your vet accepts payment plans, if there is a low cost clinic in your area, or you can apply for Care Credit online. There is also an organization called Red Rover that give grants for treatment of sick animals, and you can see if you qualify for one of their grants. Best Friends also has a list of resources that offer financial assistance on their website. I'd also see if you can borrow money from family and friends.

CJ really needs a vet visit when you can manage it. In older cats hyperthyroidism, kidney disease, diabetes mellitus, inflammatory bowel disease are possibilities and require bloodwork to diagnose. The good news is many of the conditions can be treated or managed but you need a diagnosis in order to determine the best treatment. I'm sorry this is going on with Precious but she needs to see a vet. The most common issues we see with older cats are: 1. diabetes 2. kidney disease/failure 3. hyperthyroidism Any of those can cause her symptoms and all are treatable (to an extent). All can be ruled out with simple blood testing. The best one she could have is hyperthyroidism - it is not expensive to diagnose or treat. Of course it may not be any of those and she could have something else going on entirely. First step is you need to know what the diagnosis is. I don't know what prices are in your area but an exam and bloodwork is probably right around $200. All you can do is call around for prices and see what you can work out. Some humane societies these days have low cost services so maybe check with them.

Why is my senior cat lethargic, not eating, and peeing outside?
I'm sorry but Emms needs to see a vet. This is not something you can remedy at home. She sounds extremely ill. The three most common illnesses in older cats are: diabetes, kidney failure and hyperthyroidism. These call all be ruled in/out with simple blood testing. Of course something else may be the cause as there are many possiblities. If you cannot afford treatment then you may want to consider human euthanasia as it sounds like she is suffering and that is not fair to Emms. If you don't have payment available then maybe there is someone you an borrow money from or you can try to apply for CareCredit. ( https://www.carecredit.com/vetmed/ ) I found this hospital in your area that is open 24 hours. I suggest you call them and give them the situation and see if they will work with you. If not, maybe they can refer you to a low-cost clinic. Emms needs veterinary care ASAP.

These signs are probably not due to old age alone and there is likely something going on with Shadoe. Unfortunately, without a full physical exam and diagnostic testing, it is not possible to determine what could be causing these signs. However, lethargy and eating and drinking very little along with weight loss are very concerning signs that warrant a visit to the veterinarian. Annie needs to be examined by the veterinarian today. It sounds like she is very sick and there is nothing you can do for her at home at this point. Just like humans, pets can get sick for many many reasons. Some of these can be treated IF THEY ARE CAUGHT IN TIME. Other reasons will be fatal. Have her examined today to find out your options and so that Annie does not suffer if she is found to have something not treatable. Euthanasia is a hard decision but it relieves suffering. Senior cat crying, not eating. Is she in pain? Should I see a vet?
If 22 years of age is accurate, that is definitely very old. While cats can live considerably longer than dogs, that is still pretty far past the average lifespan. That being said, I would still advocate taking her into the vet to be examined to see if anything can be done to either make her more comfortable, or to offer you some information as to her quality of life moving forward. Some of the most common issues we see in older cats include kidney disease, thyroid disease, lymphoma (particularly of the gastrointestinal tract), and liver problems. Some of these are addressed with medication while others are far less treatable. I certainly wouldn't advocate just letting her go at home. If anything, if they feel she is in pain then they can make her transition much more peaceful. Hope this makes sense.
