My cat won't eat, drink, or use litter box. What should I do?

For fatty liver disease, a feeding tube is generally recommended to help bring cats out of this condition as nutritional support is key and extremely important in these cases. I would recommend an abdominal ultrasound as the next diagnostic step to help better determine what the cause could be. This sounds like an emergency condition for Ollie and he should be examined by an ER vet immediately. He could have a number of underlying conditions, such as an intestinal obstruction, severe virus, among others. With the symptoms you are describing I would recommend having Oscar examined by your veterinarian and have further testing done to help determine what the problem could be. The kidneys may not be the problem. This could be infectious or if he ate something and it is now stuck in his GI tract could be the problem. This is in fact a concerning sign in cats as inappetence can be observed with conditions such as pancreatitis, kidney disease (most likely chronic in nature), dietary indiscretion and diabetes, just to mention a few possibilities. Cats can develop serious illness when they stop eating. This is known as hepatic lipidosis which is directly related to anorexia. I recommend that if Nutmeg is not eating by tomorrow morning, to have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment.
