My cat isn't eating after giving birth. What's wrong with her?

Hello. I am sorry that Binx isn't feeling well. It sounds like Binx is very sick. If she isn't wanting to eat or drink then she could have a retained baby inside that is rotting and making her sick. That would be the biggest concern, and is fatal if untreated. The other kittens dying could also mean that she has a problem with her milk, or a virus, and this could be making Binx sick as well. I would strongly recommend taking Binx and the two survivors to the vet as soon as possible to be assessed. Good luck with Binx.

Poor girl. If she is not eating food, then this is an indicator that she may have an infection. At this age, most of the kittens should be almost weaned off of her, so it is ok if she is not producing a lot of milk. You can start giving them kitten formula mixed with soft canned food at this point and help them wean completely off of mom. I would highly encourage you to have her evaluated by your veterinarian as soon as possible. I worry she may have a uterine infection or even a retained placenta or fetus causing illness. You really need to have Lilli to a vet for exam. Something is obviously wrong. You can't leave her like this to vomit every day and be miserable. With the hair loss, she could have ringworm, mange or any number of diseases. Again, a vet visit is needed to figure this out. Also, I suggest you have her spayed so she doesn't get pregnant anymore. Obviously that took a toll on her body.

Any abnormal behavior or sign of illness that persists, worsens or other signs develop are an indication to see your veterinarian. It's possible she has a kitten still inside of her or other problem going on. Your vet can gather a history, perform an examination and then advise you on any diagnostic tests needed. Hello, I do worry that Lucy may have retained placenta or a uterine infection that could be causing pain. I worry whenever cats become lethargic and stop eating. Poor Nariko! It's very concerning that she's so lethargic and not eating, as these are often signs of a serious problem in cats. Since she had stillborn kittens, it's possible that she could have a serious uterine infection or even a dead kitten still inside her. Cats can also get pregnancy toxemia, eclampsia, and other life-threatening problems around the time of birth. I would recommend taking Nariko to a vet immediately for an exam. He/she can do blood work and x-rays if needed to help diagnose the problem and get her started on appropriate treatment.
