My cat has a sore or scratch on her nose. Should I be worried?

Keep a close eye on it and if it does not improve in the next week or so, have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment though that is unlikely to be needed. However, I think a fungal infection like cryptococcus seems more likely and that would only respond to anti-fungal therapy. Another possibility is cancer such as squamous cell carcinoma. I recommend you consider having him reevaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. May be a biopsy could be done at this time since it has not improved. Hello. I am always concerned about an ulcerated nasal planum in a relatively young cat. This could be bacterial, autoimmune, fungal, or cancer ( less likely due to his relatively young age ). You really need to see your veterinarian for a minimum of a culture & to start antibiotics. If the antibiotics do not seem to be helping, than a biopsy will be necessary. From the pictures, it looks as though what you are seeing may be from trauma. Cat scratches to the face commonly occur on cats that are outdoor cats. Many times the hair will not grow back and the cat will be left with a small scar. If canto is indoor only and the nodule is raised, I would say get a vet to examine him to see for sure what it may be. It could be from a bug bite or a skin tumor of some type. If you cannot get to your vet right away, I would say just monitor for now and if it worsens get him seen sooner. It does not look infected or swollen from the picture. I would monitor for signs of infection which may include swelling, redness, painful to the touch, discharge, etc. I hope this helps! Poor Squeekers. This could be due to allergy or insect hypersensitivity. I would be sure that he is on adequate parasite prevention such as Revolution. In some cats lesions such as these can be autoimmune. I would recommend trying to keep indoors if possible to see if they start resolving. It is definitely possible that she cut herself on something. It almost appears that she may have a rub sore on her nose from rubbing her nose against something. It does not look infected so I would keep an eye on this and if it worsens, take Masha in to be seen by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate treatment recommendations can be made. The mark on Cleo's nose looks like a bit of crusted fur. This could be due to a scab from scratching herself, or could be the start of a mild bacterial or fungal infection. As long as it doesn't seem to be bothering her, it's perfectly reasonable to keep an eye on it for a week or two before taking further action. If it gets better - problem solved! If it stays the same or gets worse, it would be best to have it checked out by a vet. During the exam, your vet may need to scrape a sample of skin cells to be examined under a microscope to get to the bottom of this issue. I hope that everything goes well!
