My cat has a sore on his nose that's getting worse, what's wrong?

However, I think a fungal infection like cryptococcus seems more likely and that would only respond to anti-fungal therapy. Another possibility is cancer such as squamous cell carcinoma. I recommend you consider having him reevaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. May be a biopsy could be done at this time since it has not improved. I still think that a focal infection or traumatic lesion is more likely. You can use a topical medication like Douxo 3% PS pads which you may find online. You can apply this to the affected area twice daily for 2 weeks. If this does not resolve or appears to be progressing, have Lovey evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Poor Squeekers. This could be due to allergy or insect hypersensitivity. I would be sure that he is on adequate parasite prevention such as Revolution. In some cats lesions such as these can be autoimmune. I would recommend trying to keep indoors if possible to see if they start resolving. This looks like a condition called eosinophilic granuloma, it's an autoimmune disease related to various allergies as well, you need to bring him to the vet ASAP, the treatment for this condition is usually done with steroids and hypoallergenic food.

When that layer of tissue becomes exposed like that, they can be more at risk of developing infections. For this reason, it would be indicated to have Boo evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. From the image it is very hard to see exactly what is going on with Taido's nose, however you cannot rule out SCC with just lack of nasal discharge or seizures. The only way to rule this out is by taking a sample of the mass and sending it for histopathology. The early stages will not result in discharge or seizures, and early stages are when you want to catch it. I would recommend having a sample of the mass on the nose taken and sent away for histopathology, as masses on the nose like that are not common and therefore and not something straight-forward that will get an easy answer. Poor, Tommy. His nose looks very painful! There can be many potential causes for this, including fungal infection, bacterial infection, mites, contact allergy, autoimmune disease, or cancer. I recommend that he see a vet as soon as possible. The vet may recommend diagnostics like cytology to look at cells under the microscope, or cultures to figure out what could be growing there. Medications may be prescribed, like antibiotics, anti-fungals, or ant-inflammatories.
