My cat's nose is raw, bleeding, and has discharge. What should I do?

This looks very sore! In some cats a viral infection such as herpes can be involved, so ampling and testing the area can be very helpful as antviral drugs can be very effective. An Ecollar in the meantime will prevent her from clawing at the area and doing further damage, you could apply manuka hney to the area but I would not recommend using any medicated ointments etc as she will lick and swallow them!

Without photos it would be hard to say, but if it keeps reopening, has excessive discharge, or isn't healing it is best to have a vet take a look in person to make sure it isn't infected or there isn't another underlying issue going on. It is also a good idea to keep an Elizabethan (cone) collar on Arya at all times to prevent her from pawing at or rubbing the nose to allow it a chance to heal without further irritation.

That looks like it may be dried blood, or something such as an infection/fungus but it is hard to tell from the photo. If he is bleeding from his nose and in pain, I would seek emergency care right away.

Poor Apollo! It looks like he has quite a nasty respiratory infection. He will need prescription antibiotics from your veterinarian to treat this problem, so I would recommend taking him in for an exam as soon as you are able to.

If Binx lets you clean the nose with antiseptic solution, you should do it every 8-12hrs. Please, take Binx to your local vets tomorrow as he may need treatment with a course of anti-inflammatory medications.

Poor Chance. It sounds like you are doing an amazing job with him. The blood from the nose and eyes could be from severe irritation of the mucous membranes or due to a viral infection. Since he is alert and interactive I would keep doing what you are doing. I would be syringe feeding him some food every 3-4 hours. You can also hold him in a small bathroom with the hot shower going so he can breathe in the steam. This will help to loosen up the mucus and also help to moisturize his mucous membranes. There is no need to get him wet or near the water. Just hold him since steam rises. Also, if you have a humidifier, you can run that at night while he sleeps. No need to put any medicine in it - just water. If the bleeding continues, I would have your vet recheck him to ensure he doesn’t need any additional meds or his current meds changes. She is probably suffering from a chronic upper respiratory infection, you need to take her to the vet to get it checked and treated, a relatively long course of antibiotic will likely be needed to treat this condition.
