My cat hurt her nose. What should I do until her vet appointment?

It sounds like Mibaowa may have scratched at her nose, causing the scab to come off. It does need to heal, or it could get infected from her continually scratching at it. I would put an Ecollar on her, which will prevent her from scratching at it, and will allow it to heal. You can get an Ecollar from a pet store or your vet.

This looks very sore! In some cats a viral infection such as herpes can be involved, so ampling and testing the area can be very helpful as antviral drugs can be very effective. An Ecollar in the meantime will prevent her from clawing at the area and doing further damage, you could apply manuka hney to the area but I would not recommend using any medicated ointments etc as she will lick and swallow them!

Poor Cali! You can gently clean the area with warm water and antiseptic soap, and then I would take her into the vet. It may needs stitches to help it heal correctly, which the vet can do, and she may benefit from antibiotics to prevent infection. Please take her into a vet today. I hope this helps!

Without photos it would be hard to say, but if it keeps reopening, has excessive discharge, or isn't healing it is best to have a vet take a look in person to make sure it isn't infected or there isn't another underlying issue going on. It is also a good idea to keep an Elizabethan (cone) collar on Arya at all times to prevent her from pawing at or rubbing the nose to allow it a chance to heal without further irritation.

I would observe the lesion for oozing , infection , bleeding, excessive swelling, or even expanding. If none of this happens and it heals over the next week, then there is no need to take your kitty to the vet. Should the cut not heal, I would have your veterinarian examine it.

It could have been a scab forming over Josephine's wound, but it is concerning that the wound is now larger than before. She could have been rubbing at her nose causing it to fall off. I'd have her seen by a vet for this problem. If she is rubbing at the wound and interrupting the healing process, it could easily become infected. The vet may decide to give her antibiotics to prevent any infection, and can treat the wound. I recommend bringing her into a vet tomorrow.
