My cat's mouth bleeds when she tries to eat after treatment?

I would agree with your veterinarian in that they probably need to sedate or put under anesthesia to be able to better evaluate this region. Then they can treat it accordingly. If it does not resolve in the next week or so, have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Best of luck!

Aw I'm sorry to hear about Orio's issue! If the lesion in the mouth is related to cancer then putting Orio to sleep may be the best option. Oral cancer in cats can progress quickly and lead to chronic pain. If cancer is suspected you could seek a consultation with a veterinary oncologist to see if there are any treatments that may help Orio. If the bleeding is due to dental infection then it can probably be fixed with dental surgery. If you can post a picture or more information about the case the we may be able to help you further. Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your concern. Based on the pictures you have provided, it appears as though Kohara may be dealing with indolent ulcers of the lip. These are typically triggered by a hypersensitivity from an allergen. Treatment for these typically consist of steroid therapy and antibiotics for secondary infections. Cats are very well known for having a mouth tumor called squamous cell carcinoma which carries a poor prognosis. However, it could still be something else. The only way to know is by doing some sampling via fine needle aspiration or possibly a biopsy. If squamous cell carcinoma is confirmed, it is not likely to respond to medications much other than mild decrease in inflammation. Treatment for squamous cell carcinoma is limited by how aggressive this tumor is though sometimes surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy are options. Sorry for the sad news. Hello. I am concerned that Snowball may have some issues with the tissues deeper in his mouth. There is a condition called stomatitis, which can cause bleeding, inflammation & significant pain. Your cat will be reluctant to eat as it hurts to swallow. Your veterinarian can discover the cause of the blood & hopefully make some recommendations for treating Snowball & hopefully get him feeling better soon.
