Can eating a mouse or outdoor spray cause my cat's GI issues?

Hello, sorry to hear about your cat. Some guts in mice and other rodents may appear green due to their billirubin secretion. The biggest concern for cats that kill and eat mice is indirect ingestion of rat bait. If there is rat bait set out in your house or neighborhood then I would indeed have your veterinarian assess his bloodwork to ensure his clotting factors are normal. I would be concerned that Willow ingested a rat that had ingested some poison previously. Some poisons may cause more problems than others when ingested secondarily. The other possibility is that Willow feels sick from eating the rat itself. If her digestive tract is not used to ingesting fur and bones she may be feeling sick from that. It would really be best to have Willow checked out as soon as possible by a veterinarian. They can assess blood work to make sure she is not anemic (as some rat poison can cause this) and also make sure she is not showing other signs of toxicity. Goldie could be vomiting and have watery stool due to many reasons including a sudden change in diet, an infection or parasites. You may try feeding her a bland diet if she will eat it. A bland diet can consist of 25% boiled white meat chicken and 75% boiled white rice. This should all be plain. If she will not eat it, continue feeding her the kitten food. Offer her both canned and dried. At her age, she does not need milk of any form. If she is still sick tomorrow, have her examined and treated by the veterinarian. Without seeing Mia in person, I can't say for certain what is causing her to be sick so often, but it could be a GI illness, eating something rotten, a change in diet, or inflammatory bowel disease. I would have her seen by a vet first before changing her diet. The vet should be able to diagnose the cause, and then can prescribe the correct treatment. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

It sounds as Sia is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. if the vet thinks it is more serious she will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.

Poor Brutus. It sounds like he may have eating something or gotten into something he shouldn't have in the garden. If there is any way to get him to the vet today, I would strongly recommend it. This could have been a toxic plant or some other type of toxin that is cause nausea or irritation to the mouth. The vet will be able to talk in detail about what is in and around your garden, run blood work if needed and get him on the proper treatment plan to help him feel better. I hope this helps!

That is odd. Could she be eating something or sniffing up particles while she is outside? If she is eating grass or another plant, that could cause it. If she is sniffing a dusty area or other area where things could be snuffed up her nostrils, that could cause it as well. Observe her very closely when she goes outside to see if you can figure it out.
