My cat ate a mouse with green guts. Do I need to take her to the vet?

Mice are not an unusual snack for cats and rarely cause any symptoms at all other than occasionally vomiting. Monitor for any severe vomiting and report to your vet if this occurs. If mouse bait is used, there is a possibility she may be exposed to this so monitor for any other unusual signs

Killing a mouse could make Goldie sick, especially if the mouse had just gotten into poison. Also stuff that is sprayed outside could make her sick. I'd take her into a vet immediately to get checked out. Best of luck.

If your cat didn't eat it, health risks would be minimal. The main secondary issues from hunting are tapeworms (if they eat the mouse) and issues from fleas (so I would apply a good prevention like Revolution of Advantage Multi). Another consideration would be to make sure you don't have rodenticide poisons anywhere because if they caused the mouse's death and then your cat ate it (or a future mouse!) then they would also be exposed to it!

I would be concerned that Willow ingested a rat that had ingested some poison previously. Some poisons may cause more problems than others when ingested secondarily. The other possibility is that Willow feels sick from eating the rat itself. If her digestive tract is not used to ingesting fur and bones she may be feeling sick from that. It would really be best to have Willow checked out as soon as possible by a veterinarian. They can assess blood work to make sure she is not anemic (as some rat poison can cause this) and also make sure she is not showing other signs of toxicity. Probably. The whole mouse is technically edible for cats. A lot of hair or bones could cause an obstruction in a kitten, so I would monitor Holly for decreased appetite or vomiting. If this occurs, have her examined by a vet.

Good on Finn for taking care of that mouse for you! It could be that eating the mouse has upset his stomach a bit, but given the only thing he is doing is hiding under the bed, I wouldn't be too worried about him just yet. It's good that he's accepting treats, and I would let him hide for now. He will come out when he's ready. Now I would start getting concerned if he vomits multiple times, becomes very lethargic, stops eating, and stops drinking water. He may vomit once or twice if the innards of the mouse upset his stomach, but if he starts vomiting over and over, then that's concerning. Hello, You may have gotten very lucky and that was all that was in there. If not watch for any continued vomiting, difficulty/pain when pooping and any behavior changes (sleeping more, not wanting to eat, etc) those would indicate a need to got to the vet. They may want to do xrays at that point to see if there is evidence of any string caught in the intestine.
