My cat is missing after peeing everywhere. Is he sick or dead?

Poor guy. There are two most likely possibilities. One is that something scary happened to him during the party (kids being too rough or even just the noise being scary for him) or he has been ill for the past 7 months and is feeling poorly because of that. I would recommend starting with a vet visit to make sure he seems medically healthy, and talking them through the behavioral changes you've noticed to decide if he needs treatment.

Poor Skunk. Frequent urination and accidents in the home indicate a possible urinary tract infection. Skunk needs to have his urine tested through your local vet and treated with antibiotics if confirmed. UTI's in male cats are uncommon however, whereas urinary blockages are more frequent, so closely monitor him for any straining or inability to urinate, as this would pose a medical emergency type situation. However if he is still able to urinate, not vocalizing when trying to pee and still eating and drinking well, then you can schedule an appt for the next day or two to get him tested and treated. UTI's in cats can be managed long term with dietary changes so discuss with your vet about these if this becomes a chronic issue for him. I hope Skunk feels better soon!

While loss/grief can certainly cause behavioral changes in cats, losing weight, not eating and urinating everywhere make me worry there is an underlying health condition such as a urinary infection that is causing him distress. Not being neutered can also lead to marking behavior/stress if there is a female in heat nearby. It is a good idea to have a thorough exam done along with bloodwork, X-rays and urine tests potentially to determine if there is any health issue. If he checks out healthy, spending more time together may help him to relax some, as well as using a pheromone diffuser such as Feliway to help with the marking behavior/stress. If you think he'd benefit from a friend, gradually introducing a new cat may help as well, but can also be stressful.

Poor Max! It's very concerning that he is crying when urinating, and I would check him to see if he is straining while urinating and if no urine is coming out. Crying when urinating can indicate a blockage by bladder stones, and the other symptoms seen are straining and producing no urine. A blockage is a medical emergency which is fatal without treatment, and if he straining and producing no urine, you have to get him into a vet right away. There will be a vet on call in your area for emergencies, and the information to reach that vet will be on their answering machine or website. I would find a vet on call to have him seen now, if he is blocked it absolutely cannot wait until the morning.

I would be very suspicious that he had a urinary blockage, was able to pass the obstructing material and that's when he got all wet and litter covered and may have passed blood. It would be the best plan if action to take him to your veterinarian for an exam and a urinalysis. Explain exactly what is going on. He may have an infection, crystalsi in his urine or bladder stones. If he was obstructed, he could do it again very soon and this can be a life threatening emergency.

Poor guy. He likely has a urinary tract infection or cystitis (inflamed bladder usually due to stress). I would recommend taking him to your vet for a urine test to determine which is present so that he is treated appropriately. As long as he is otherwise acting normal and able to urinate at will, then it isn't considered an emergency at this point. Getting him seen on Monday or the day after should be ok. It is likely he will be prescribed antibiotics and/or a prescription diet to treat this successfully. I hope that Milo gets better soon. Best wishes and take care.

It is possible that someone else is providing him with food as well and that is the reason he is not returning for all of his meals with you. He also may be sick, dealing with an infection or systemic disease. If you can catch him and bring him to the veterinarian, that would be ideal so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made.
