My cat's not eating, losing weight, peeing. Sick or grieving?

I am sorry to hear that Gary is not feeling well. While being intact can make them have behavioral changes and actively seek out a mate, this shouldn't cause him to not eat or lose weight. I would definitely recommend taking him to veterinarian for an examination. It is possible that he is painful somewhere or has problems with his urinary tract that makes him painful and causes him to urinate where he shouldn't. Your cat might have something going on with his mouth or teeth, or may have a urinary tract disease or some other metabolic issue. If he is losing weight, you should have blood work and a urine test done to make sure he doesn't have an infection or other issue causing him to stop eating as well as he was. Animals may initially prefer the substrate they have been accustomed to but may select a different substrate later in the trial. Be patient during this litterbox trial period. Third, discourage use of inappropriate elimination areas by cleaning soiled regions with an enzymatic cleaner. Cats that are fed or receive attention in a commonly-soiled area may be discouraged from eliminating there further. If your cat targets only a few areas of the house, remote distracters (contact paper sticky-side up, aluminum, motion-or-light-triggered alarms, etc.) may be used, but only if the punishment is delivered immediately and consistently. Urinary tract infection and possible metabolic disorder (weight loss and acting differently could be compatible with hyperthyroidism). A check up is absolutely needed as these signs are quite concerning and immediate assessment is required.

Please get him seen by your vet as soon as possible, behavior changes and weight loss in an older cat are always a concern. I would recommend blood and urine tests to rule out a uti, kidney issues or a hormonal condition such as diabetes or thyroid disease

I would have Zarry checked out by a vet as soon as possible. There are two conditions that come to mind that can cause a cat to lose weight despite having a good appetite: hyperthyroidism and diabetes. A vet will examine Zarry and discuss his medical history, and will probably recommend bloodwork to look for a diagnosis.

I am sorry that Baby is having some behavioral issues. I would recommend taking him to the vet to rule out all possible medical issues. You did not list Baby's age but I would be concerned about possible diabetes, urinary tract infections, infectious disease or pain(maybe trauma). However a vet will be able to determine if Baby is actually sick. If baby is healthy than most likely the change in behavior is due to stress and anxiety in the house. With cats this can change as they get older. I recommend trying to increase number of litter boxes and food dishes. Also try feliway which is a cat pheromone to help decrease stress
