My cat has a lump after a fight and antibiotics. Is it an abscess?

Yes it is definitely possible for an abscess to form if there was any bacteria that was introduced underneath the skin in this area. It is good that it is draining, but now Luna needs a short course of antibiotics prescribed by your vet to get this to heal well. Also having it flushed with an antiseptic (usually we use Chlorhexidine solution diluted) will help this help well. Yes, that appears to be an abscess. What you are smelling is infection. Chances are it won't clear up without oral antibiotics. I suggest you get him to the vet for an exam and to get some antibiotics. You can try applying a topical antibiotic cream/ointment but it is rare for that to actually work on it's own. As a side note, male cats that are not neutered usually get into a lot of fights so if you don't use him as a breeding animal you may want to have him neutered to minimize the chance of this happening again.

It could be that Trouble has an abscess from scratching his neck causing the lump. Abscesses are pockets of infection which should be treated with antibiotics, so it is possible that the vet did the right thing if they suspected an abscess. It's good that Trouble is acting normally, and I wouldn't worry just yet. Keep an eye on the lump and if it doesn't go down, then I would have him seen by a vet again.

It sounds like Kit has either an abscess or cellulitis. I recommend to take him in to the veterinarian's office today for an exam and likely antibiotics as well as pain medication. The doctor may recommend to drain the abscess as well (assuming its not cellulitis). Infections after cat fights are very common. Hope Kit starts feeling better soon.

These each sound like an abscess that healed but trapped the bacteria under neath so it opened up and drained. The yellow inside may be fat or necrotic tissue. Clean it with soap and water on a cloth until you can take her to the vet. typically they heal very well and quickly but will need antibiotics to make sure the infection is gone while it is healing

I would recommend getting Angel to the vet within the next 1-2 days. They can take a sample of the fluid to confirm the nature of the mass, and start antibiotic therapy if it is an abscess. In the meantime, I would ensure Angel does not scratch the area, by putting a scarf or e-collar (cone) on (it is difficult to say which would be best, as I can't tell the exact location of the lump in the photo).
