My cat lost a kitten outside. Should I let her other kitten go out?

Let her take the kitten with her. She wants the kitten to come with her so she can teach it how to hunt, what to eat and what not, teach her what and who is dangerous, etc. This is important for the kitten. She will teach it to become a good cat able to take care of itself.

I am so sorry for the loss of your other kitty. It is completely reasonable to feel this way and it is preferred to keep Bleu indoors for his safety. Most cats that are trained to stay indoors will adjust and be perfectly fine with it. It is hard to keep a pet indoors when they have always had access to the outside, so you want to instill this standard in Bleu now when he is young. Great question! Given that they are about six months old, you can start introducing them to the outside now. It's fine to do them together at the same time, and I would start by letting them outside on their own with you monitoring for 10-15 minutes, and then slowly increasing the time they are allowed outside over the next couple of weeks. I would recommend having them indoors at night and only letting them out during the day. Nighttime is when there can be lots of fights with cats and predators will come out at night, so it will be safer for them to be indoors then.

So that right there should make you feel good that you gave him the best chance possible. While you can never say for sure what will happen outside, many cats transition great to being indoor/outdoor. The fact that he comes in at night will help keep him a bit safer than if he were out all the time. Since Jerry gets into fights when let outside I would definitely recommend keeping him as an indoor kitty. To help decrease his tendency to roam I would recommend having him neutered. You should also increase your interactions with him by doing things such as playing with a laser pointer and grooming him.
