My cat got out at a new campsite. Will she return to her kittens?

We moved to a camping site for the summer and I took one of my cats with me bcuz her kittens were very young any way we've been here for 2 days and this morning she got out will she come back for her kittens or will she get lost? I'm very worried I already bought kitten replacement milk from petsathome just incase but will she come back

Oh no. That isn't good. Cats are very unpredictable; therefore, I would air on he side of caution and feed the kittens if need be. If the kittens are less than 2 weeks of age you want to make sure they are also kept warm (but don't overheart) and I would recommend wearing gloves when handling them to avoid masking their scent, which can lead to mama cat rejecting them when she returns. It is a foreign place for her so she has an increased likelihood of getting lost or injured while outdoors.
You can try to go searching for the Mama cat as well. Take a can of tuna with you to see if you can entice her to return. Also leave a way for mama cat to easily enter the house, if you can, just in case she returns and no one notices. I hope she does come back. Wishing you all the best!

Unfortunately, this is possible. She also may have placed them somewhere outside where the kittens were susceptible to predators. Kittens will not survive long on their own, so depending on how long they may have been without their mother, this situation could be dire. If she grew up as a stray, then I think she'll have a good chance of surviving. Cats do have a good sense of direction, so she might return. It's not uncommon that cats go for a walkabout for a day or two, then return. However, she also may be trying to get back to her alley home. If that is somewhat nearby, then I'd check for her there. It's also good to start hanging flyers in the neighborhood and check with local shelters. People tend to pick these kittens up when they see them. I hope that helps and your kitty returns soon.

My 40-day-old kitten's mother is gone. Will she return home?

I would start supplementing the kitten with kitten formula fed out of a syringe or kitten bottle every 3-4 hours. Some times the mom will abandon her kitten but sometimes she will come back. I would try to supplement for now just so the kitten won't have any issues. I hope this helps.

Will a mother cat recognize her kitten if separated for 2 weeks?

I would worry that this cat might not truly be the mother, and if they have been separated for two weeks and this was her only kitten she may not have sufficient milk left to feed it. If your kitten is eating solid food it may no longer require nutrition from its mother. If the kitten is not eating solids you could try leaving it outdoors next to a little food and watch closely to see if the mother comes and cares for it, but be prepared to bring the kitten back inside if the mother ignores the kitten.

It is possible that she is just taking care of her young for now. There are possible complication after birth like imbalance hormones, a kitten not born causing infection, or even eclampsia (low calcium). If you know where she could be hiding, I would try to find her and take food to her. If not, all you can do is wait. She will likely come out when she is ready. Pregnant stray cat returned without kittens. When can I take her in?

She may have had the kittens and left them someplace secure while she searches for food. You can continue to feed her for the next 6 weeks or so. You may see the kittens before then. If so, you can choose to take them all in. Leaving her out puts her at risk of harm, but taking her in before her kittens are weaned puts them at risk. It is a difficult situation.
