My cat has liver disease. Could a stomach lump and bruise be related?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Sphynx | Male | neutered | 11 years and 2 months old | 6 lbs

My cat currently has liver disease and nothing can be done about it. Today I noticed a raised lump and a significant bruise around it on his stomach. Just wondering if this could have anything to do with the liver disease

So sorry to hear that Spock is having this issue.

Yes, it sure could be related. One of the jobs of the liver is to make clotting factors. If the liver is not working it can no longer make these factors so Spock;s blood may not be able to clot appropriately. I would be a worried about this and I think you should get Spock back to your vet to have that checked.

Hope this answers your question. Best wishes.
