My cat is limping, shaking, and has a lump under its armpit. What's wrong?

Hello. I would suggest that you have Boo seen by your vet. The lump under his leg could be an enlarged lymph node and could be related to his limping, he may have an infection that needs medications. Shivering can be a sign of pain or fever. I would suggest having him assessed.

Hello. I would have this looked at by your vet tomorrow. The most common thing we see in cats are bite abscesses & it is really amazing how hard it is to sometimes find a bite wound. A cat's bite can leave a tiny needle like puncture & an abscess can begin to develop within hours. It can be very painful & make Buddy feel sick. To evaluate the mass, a small needle to collect a sample of cells to evaluate under the microscope. An infection under the skin known as an abscess can be painful. It could be that Percy has injured himself leading to the limping and swelling. Limping means he is in pain, and unfortunately there are no OTC pain medications you can give him. Many human ones are toxic to cats, and are fatal if given. I would take him into a vet now for treatment. Best of luck.

Poor Grady! Unfortunately, this swelling could be due to a malignant tumor, especially if he's an older cat. The difficulty jumping and walking could be due to arthritis. I would have Grady seen by a vet today or first thing tomorrow. The cause of the swelling needs to be diagnosed so the vet can decide if there is any treatment available for him. Should he have arthritis, the vet can prescribe pain medications for him. Please do not give him any human pain medications, as many are toxic to cats and are fatal if given.

It could be that Ballora has injured herself causing her to limp. She is showing you she is in pain by limping and not putting much weight on the leg. I would rest her for the next 24 hours. No running, jumping, or playing. Keep her confined to a small room or a large crate (with food, water, and litter box in it) to restrict her movement. If after this time she is still limping, take her into a vet asap. The vet can diagnose what is causing her pain, and can treat her for it. The vet can also prescribe pain medication for her. Miss Tazzi may have a cate bite abscess or another injury or a swollen lymphnode. IShe is likely running a fever as well. I suggest you take her to a per ER for an exam. She will likely need pain medicine, and antibiotics, especially if she has a fever due to an abscess or injury. No need to be scared, but certainly in need of an exam.
