My cat licked peppermint oil, vomited. Could he still be poisoned?

Hello and welcome to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach, I would have expected to see some clinical signs at this point so Morgan is very likely out of the woods. I would monitor for the next 24 hours for signs of trouble breathing, weakness, inappetance, vomiting, diarrhea and seizures or tremors, as these are all signs of Peppermint Toxicity, however she should have displayed signs by this point if it was going to become clinical. Cleaning solutions are usually irritating to the stomach and intestines, but don't tend to cause much internal toxicity besides that. If she is eating, drinking and acting normally, then I would not be too concerned. She may have diarrhea for a day or two also, but this is OK. If she continues to vomit for more than 24 hours, has diarrhea for more than three days, or is not eating, drinking and acting normally, then I recommend taking her to the vet. Otherwise, I think it will be safe for her to stay home under observation for the time-being. I hope that helps and all is well with Lily.

If you want to rinse her mouth out well with water as a precaution and wipe her paws well with water to prevent any more possible ingestion that isn't wrong. If she becomes lethargic, drools, won't eat or in anyway appears abnormal then bring her to the Vet. But based on your description I think she will be fine. Maybe have a discussion with your roommate about this so it won't happen again. I hope this helps!

Oh no, that's not good! Inhaling peppermint oil can cause aspiration pneumonia. Symptoms of this include fever, fast or labored breathing, and a rapid heart beat. If you see any of those signs, take Wilford into a vet immediately.

Yes, I would encourage you to have her evaluated by your veterinarian as soon as possible. The mint may have really irritated her stomach lining. If there was some pollen on your hands that you transferred on Oreo's fur, then yes there is a chance that he may get into trouble. You should brush him as soon as possible and monitor for signs of vomiting, lethargy and lack of appetite. If you notice that he is unwell, you should take him to your local vets right away. If you touched only the leaves or stems with your hands, it will not cause any problems to your cat.
