My cat licked Dettol water and has soft stool. Should I worry?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! If the floor looked dry I am sure she is fine. I do not think she needs to see a vet. If you want to rinse her mouth out well with water as a precaution and wipe her paws well with water to prevent any more possible ingestion that isn't wrong. If she becomes lethargic, drools, won't eat or in anyway appears abnormal then bring her to the Vet. But based on your description I think she will be fine. Maybe have a discussion with your roommate about this so it won't happen again. I hope this helps!

I’d just watch her for now, and check her mouth to make sure there are no burns in it. If you see burns, take her into a vet immediately. If you see excessive drooling, vomiting, difficulty eating, or lethargy, have her seen by a vet. You did the right thing by giving her milk. I hope this helps.

I am sorry to hear about your concern for your kitty! Ingesting a small amount of shampoo (provided it isnt' a medicated kind) would not be likely to cause any poisoning/toxicity in your kitty, but could cause some stomach upset. I would just recommend monitoring her appetite and energy level and watching for vomiting. If you notice changes in these then a visit to your vet is recommended.

Cleaning solutions are usually irritating to the stomach and intestines, but don't tend to cause much internal toxicity besides that. If she is eating, drinking and acting normally, then I would not be too concerned. She may have diarrhea for a day or two also, but this is OK. If she continues to vomit for more than 24 hours, has diarrhea for more than three days, or is not eating, drinking and acting normally, then I recommend taking her to the vet. There is a chance of toxicity with ingesting dish soap. Dish soap is listed as a non-ionic detergent, and you will see vomiting and diarrhea if she digests it. I recommend trying to get her to wash the rest off, and the monitor her. If she does starting vomiting and having diarrhea, you need to take her to your vet right away. Your vet will have to administer treatment, as inducing vomiting is not recommended because it will do more harm than good. Next time you wash your cat, I'd recommend a pet shampoo to do it.

You would have noticed symptoms, such as salivating and pain straight away. If she seems well in herself, I would not worry about it. If she does look uncomfortable, she is drooling, I would recommend a vet check up.

Katrina most likely will be fine. I can't imagine she ingested enough to be toxic. Just monitor her closely to be sure she is eating and drinking OK and her normal active self. These chemicals can cause oral ulcerations (sores in her mouth) which may make her not want to eat. If you are worried about her you can always take her to your vet for an exam.
