Why is my 8-month-old cat lethargic, not eating, and crying when touched?

If there were not a fever associated, I would tell you to wait for 24 to 48 hours with complete rest of the cat with no movement. But because of the fever, you do need to see a veterinarian. Some parasites like toxoplasmosis can cause neurologic disease, as can viruses like the feline immunodeficiency virus. Difficulty walking could also be related to trauma but this might be more obvious on an exam. If the labs are not conclusive, a referral to a neurology specialist might be recommended as sometimes advanced diagnostics like an MRI and/or spinal tap are necessary for a diagnosis. If she continues to eat and drink normally and does not seem painful I'd wait for test results to come back and discuss the next step with your veterinarian.

Cats will often go off their food and be more lethargic when they are coming down with an illness. This is usually due to an upper respiratory infection (aka cat flu) or an infection of the stomach or intestines. While she may not be having nose/eye discharge, or diarrhea right now, you may see this in a day or two. Their are a couple of other diseases that I worry about with a fighting cat, because they can cause them to feel bad like this and be spread through biting. FIV and FeLV are two viral diseases that can depress the immune system and possibly lead to long-term infections. These can be easily tested for by a vet. Sometimes warming up the food will entice them to eat it, so try that along with trying different, tasty foods. The best thing to do for Alba is to take her to the vet. She may be running a fever and could already be dehydrated. They also may see something else that indicates what her specific aliment is. I would wonder if Princes might have an infection that is causing a fever. She also may have ingested something toxic or have a congenital problem that is just now affecting her. Unfortunately I think the only way you'll be able to determine what might be going on is to have a veterinarian examine Princes and recommend diagnostic tests and treatments. If she has a fever and signs of an infection they can prescribe medication to help.

Poor Little Bit! In a young cat an infectious disease would have to be high on the list. I would be suspicious that she could have the dry form of FIP, eventhough the bloodwork is not showing typical changes that usually occur with the disease. Unfortunately, FIP is difficult to diagnose but you could ask your vet about doing an xray and ultrasound of her abdomen to look for changes. Hope she feels better soon!

Miss Tazzi may have a cate bite abscess or another injury or a swollen lymphnode. IShe is likely running a fever as well. I suggest you take her to a per ER for an exam. She will likely need pain medicine, and antibiotics, especially if she has a fever due to an abscess or injury. No need to be scared, but certainly in need of an exam.
