Why is my cat lethargic, not eating, hiding, and cries when I touch his neck?

I'm sorry to hear Perry isn't feeling well. In a young neutered male cat, I would be worried about a urinary blockage. If he hasn't used the litter box in the last few hours I would get him to the vet ASAP. If he cannot urinate he could die. Of course this is worst case scenario but I would still recommend having a vet see him to find the cause of his pain. Good luck and kisses to Perry!

I would recommend you consider taking him to your veterinarian so they can check for this. They can then treat accordingly. In the meantime, try to rest him and avoid touching his neck. I am very sorry to hear that Smokey isn't feeling himself. With a history of not eating over the last few days as well as not drinking and lethargy I would advise taking Smokey to the vet as soon as you can. If Smokey is not passing urine or feces, because depressed or dull, vomits or has dirrhoea or collapses take him the the vet immediately as this could be the sign of a life threatening emergency such as an intestinal or urinary blockage. In the meantime try boiled boneless chicken breast to tempt Smokey into eating. You can also offer the broth from cooking the chicken to try and rehydrate him. That's because if the cat goes long enough without eating (about 72 hours), they will develop a fatty liver. A fatty liver is fatal without treatment. If smudge is not eating or drinking I strongly recommend a visit to the veterinarian. He may have an upper respiratory infection or virus, which can cause fever, lethargy and decrease in eating. Wetting dry food or mixing wet food with low sodium chicken broth, also warmed, might entice your pet to eat. Some cats like to be petted while they eat, some want to be left alone. You'll know your cat's habits and be able to act accordingly.
