My cat was poisoned, ran away, now lethargic. Could he be sick again?

I am sorry This happened to kasey. I would recommend taking him to a veterinarian immediately. I am not sure what caused this but now kasey needs immediate care. Kasey is most likely dehydrated and if he is not eating he could get fatty liver disease which is very difficult to treat. The feces could be soft/ diarrhea secondary to stress , toxins or something he got into when he was lost. I hope kasey feels better soon

Differentials are many, from gastrointestinal diseases (infection/inflammations often dietary related) to any disease that can spread systemically (causing lethargy for example) like infection, and anything that can cause pain/discomfort. The approach must be logic, starting from offering different kind of food. A check up is needed if inappetence lasts for more than 24hours. Poor Simon! I'm glad to hear that he's feeling better now. The most common causes of anorexia, lethargy, and weight loss in cats combined with elevated liver values, bilirubin and pancreatic enzymes would include pancreatitis, cholangiohepatitis (inflammation/infection of the liver and bile duct), or a liver tumor or abscess. Ingestion of something toxic would be fairly uncommon in cats, but certainly possible. If Simon is doing better now, you may not opt to pursue further diagnostics at this point - this is something to discuss with your vet. If you are interested in further testing to try and pin down what may have caused this and whether he's likely to have any further problems in the future, the next steps would likely include a GI blood panel (to check for pancreatitis or similar issues), and abdominal x-rays and ultrasound to better evaluate the liver and gallbladder.

I would recommend that you have Sampson examined by a vet as soon as possible. The vet may recommend that you call the pet poison helpline to determine if there is a toxic exposure to the Hotshot chemical. There can be many other causes of lethargy and poor appetite, such as kidney disease, diabetes, pancreatitis, etc. and the vet may need to start with some blood work or x-rays after they do the physical exam to determine what could be going on.

He may have not escaped uninjured. It is possible he was bitten and is developing and infection or abscess. Cat bites can be difficult to spot. Ideally, he should be physically examined by your veterinarian. He may need antibiotics and pain medications.

I"m sorry Cat isn't doing well! I would take him back into a vet today for blood tests and a urinalysis. These tests will check his organ functioning to see what could be causing his symptoms. It is concerning that he isn't improving, and he does need a recheck today. As for the hard lumps, these could be hives from an allergic reaction, but without seeing him in persons, I can't say for certain. It would be a good idea to have these checked out by a vet as well.

Your cat could be upset about the kitten but I am concerned about the length of time he has not eaten. Cats can become sick with a disease called Hepatic Lipidosis or "fatty liver" when they start using fat for energy because they do not have any food in their stomach to digest. Piku could be sick from the chemicals, sick from the new kitten even though the kitten is healthy or just be sick from something else. He should be seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible.
