Why is my cat still sick, lethargic, not eating, and has new lumps?

An infection is definitely possible with what you are describing. I also worry about lymphoma or other cancers with this sort of history, but they are not as common in younger cats. I would be more suspicious about an infection. Considering Hammy seems to be quite afflicted and there is potential for this to be something serious like FeLV, or plague, it's best to have him evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible. It doesn't appear to be an emergency right now, but it's best to have him seen in the next 24 hours. I hope that helps and Hammy gets better soon.

Unfortunately the nature of the lump must be understood (through a sampling) to be able to give you appropriate treatment options. This could be a tumor but the origin and type of it are really essential informations at this stage. I would take Lilbear back to your vet and have an abdominal ultrasound performed.

He needs more testing. Just because the blood work is normal does not mean there is nothing underlying. Something is wrong. I suggest x-rays as the next step and maybe an ultrasound of the abdomen.

A huge lump on his neck could be an abscess, a blicked salivary duct, inflamed or infected salivary gland, a cyst, a tumor, or a swollen lymph node. This needs to be examined by your veterinarian who will likely want to take a bit of tissue or check if and what kind of fluid is in the lump. He will do this with a very thin needle (painless) to determine what kind of mass or lump there is. Not eating is dangerous for a cat as this can cause liver disease in cats in addition to the original cause. Please take your kitty to a veterinarian for an exam today.

I would not pull it off yourself. These may not be related to the other signs. Your vet needs to examine him to see if blood work is needed for the decrease in appetite then can address the skin troubles at the same time

Poor Uncle Fester. Thanks for more information on it. If you are really worried about it, and I understand why you are, there's no harm in taking him into an ER vet. He may need intensive care. I recommend doing that now.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I’m so sorry to hear about Quavo. I would say if he is not improving, it’s time for more testing. Bloodwork and/or X-rays may give us a better idea of what’s going on. X-rays look for things like large heart, severe arthritis, and (heaven forbid) obvious cancer. Bloodwork will indicate kidney and liver function, diabetes, and infection in some cases. I do also agree with treating for pain. Many times pain looks exactly like what you describe so definitely give the pain medication as directed. An arthritis “flare up” can cause pretty debilitating pain and is high on my list if Quavo is 10 or more. Best wishes to you and Quavo!
