If ingesting enough of it, it can. The best thing to do is place a small amount on the affected area and play with the kitten to distract him or feed him so he eats while it dries some. Hi, I think one of the first conditions to rule out here would be eosinophilic granuloma complex (EGC) which refers to a group of inflammatory skin problems in cats. The skin lesion on the picture may be an eosinophilic plaque. Common sites are the hind legs and the stomach. The lesions can be large and may be itchy, and the cat may frequently tries to licks and even bites at the affected site which can make it worse. Most cases of ECG are due to allergies ( fleas /food/ atopy=environmental). Flea control is very important in the treatment. Most cases respond well to medical treatment with corticosteroids (prednisolone commonly) and antibiotic if infected. She will need to be checked by a vet to confirm and to be treated. Creams get absorbed rapidly into the skin and rubbing it in will enhance absorption even more. Lamisil is not toxic when ingested but it may produce upset stomach, so your Batty may vomit if she keeps licking it. Licking the cream off may slow down the healing. If after 10-14 days there is no improvement to the skin, your vet may have to change the treatment to anti-fungal tablets.

It's not the best that Minocha licked the ringworm cream. I have never come across a topical medication that has been effective for treating ringworm in cats aside from prescription-based lime sulfur dips. The concern is that the Microsporum canis (fungal organism causing ringworm) is spread diffusely throughout a cat's entire hair coat, such that an isolated topical spray will not cover all surfaces of every hair, and lead to frequent recurrence. If you are concerned that she may have ringworm, she should go to her vet for confirmation and will need to be started on oral antifungal medication. Hello and thank you for your questions about Dark and Takuma. The main things I would be concerned with are ringworm, mites and bacteria. Ringworm is a fungus that is contagious to humans and other animals. It spreads by spores being attached to shedding hair. Environmental cleanup is a huge component and I would recommend to isolate the cats to one area of the house and clean all the areas they have been around. Normal vacuuming, sweeping and mopping with a routine cleaning product should be fine. I don’t generally recommend at home treatments as it can be ineffective and ingestion could be toxic. I would recommend to take them to your local veterinarian who will likely recommend a regiment of medicated dips that are safe for cats or possibly oral treatment. Bacteria and mites are not generally contagious to humans but you should use normal hygiene practices when touching those areas. Mites require special treatment with topical medication and the bacteria may require antibiotics. Since both cats have it, I would recommend to take them to the vet sooner rather than later!
