Why does my cat's joints click when he walks, but he's not limping?

So sorry that he is having this problem. You could try a joint supplement, like Dasuquin or Cosequin for cats, and see if that helps. If not, he should be examined by a vet to determine the cause. This claw looks very malformed - I wonder if he had previous trauma to his toe. If he’s never had an x-ray of his foot it might be a good idea to make sure the bones in his toes look normal. This could be arthritis. Given Gizmoe's age, this can be when it first starts appearing and can cause the cracking noises you are hearing. Unfortunately there are no OTC pain relievers you can give him. Many human ones are toxic to cats and are fatal if given.
