My cat hit her head, has swelling and teary eyes. What can I do at home?

Yes, it does look like she suffered some trauma to that eye. From the photo, it looks like the eye probably cannot be saved. Kitty should see a veterinarian as soon as possible for an exam. You need to take her to the vet urgently, the symptoms you described indicate a total loss of vision in that eye, there is nothing you can do at home to help, she needs veterinary assistance to have a chance to get her vision back in that eye.

The only way I could see the Oti pack being the cause of the swelling would be if she was having an allergic reaction to the medications. Other causes of facial swelling are a tooth root abscess, an abscess or mass behind the eye or if she goes outside an abscess from a cat bite. I highly recommend having Temari seen today by your Vet before the weekend. If it is the Oti pack then the Vet may want to rinse it out. I would at least call your Vet to discuss what you are seeing. I do not recommend giving cats any OTC or human medications, they can not metabolize human drugs and tend to react significantly. I hope this helps and I wish Temari a speedy recovery!

What you are describing sounds like this could be what we call hydrocephalus, which is the abnormal dilation / expansion of the brain ventricular system due to the increased amount of spinal fluid being produced. Please, take Bro to your local vets to confirm the diagnosis and to start treatment for him.

No, this cannot be treated at home at this point in time. I'm very concerned that Manley's eye is swollen shut. Any eye problem is an emergency because leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. He needs to see a vet now. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website.

Poor Mara! It could be she was injured while you were gone, she could be experiencing an allergic reaction, or she could have a dental problem. In the second picture, it looks like there is a cloudiness in her left eye. That has to be checked out by a vet if it hasn't already. Get her into a vet as soon as possible. Best of luck.
