Accidentally hit my cat's head playing. What signs to watch for?

Keep an eye on her mentation (is she acting normally, responding normally, she doesn't seem "depressed" or "dull"), the way she's walking (is she bumping into walls, does she have a wobbly or drunken appearing gait), and her desire and ability to eat and drink. Cats have a pretty solid head, i'v seen my cats hit their heads many times while playing, always symptoms free right after. according to the history and lack of any symptoms i honestly don't think there is any reason to worry or to monitor her at this point, you have done more than enough so far :)

Look at his pupils, check his head for any swollen areas or wounds, check his teeth for any fractures. The pupils should be symmetrical and should respond to light normally. Watch him closely when he walks. He should not exhibit any stumbling or incoordination. He should also not appear disoriented. You may try to avoid any strenuous play with Yoshi for the next 12 hours. Avoid any jumping. Monitor his eating and drinking very closely. If you see any potential signs of a concussion, err on the side of caution and have Yoshi examined immediately. I hope this helps and that he does well.

Hello, I am sorry this happened to little Shaman. With any head trauma you can see signs and concerns develop over the initial 12-24 hours as swelling can take time to occur in the head. If Shaman is eating/drinking, playing and acting normally, you can monitor for now, as long as you will be home and around to monitor Shaman. If you see Shaman vomiting, weak, tired, wobbly, not playing, not interested in food or other concerns, I would have Shaman seen right away. With no clinical signs at 50 minutes you are unlikely to see any concerns, however just keep a close eye on Shaman. Good luck with him!

He will probably be OK, however I would closely observe him for the next 24 hrs for signs of unusual behaviors, lethargy, or vomiting. If any of this occurs, Jax needs to be taken to a veterinarian or emergency room right away to assess him for more serious complications.

Poor little Reggie. Since he's acting normally, I'd keep an eye on him for now. If you notice him getting dizzy again, has blood coming from his nose or ears, confusion, disorientation, difficulty walking, or abnormal eye movements, have him seen by a vet immediately. Otherwise, he should be ok.

Oh no, I'm so sorry! It sounds like Jane suffered some significant head trauma and is showing signs of traumatic brain injury. I would recommend taking her to an emergency veterinarian as soon as possible. Prompt intensive care, oxygen, and IV fluid support are usually recommended and depending on how severe her neurologic signs are and how she responds to therapy she may be able to make a full recovery.
