My cat is hiding under the bed after grooming with a new groomer. Why?

It's difficult to say whether or not the visit to the groomer could be related to his current clinical signs. Many animals can pick up a bug at the groomer due to the all the different animals going in and out of those areas. It can also be extremely stressful for animals, cats in particular. Stressed out animals have a lowed immune system, making them more susceptible to catching something. I would also do a very thorough check of him to make sure the groomer didn't accidentally cut him or cause him pain on any part of the body. Check the bottoms of the feet as well since you were mentioned them as an area the groomer was working on. From the picture, it also looks like Fella's tummy is really round, It could just be the angle or his weight, but this would be another area that might be worth looking at it if you decide to visit a vet about his current issue.

Your cat is most likely reacting to the "trauma" of going to the veterinarian, rather than the vaccinations. This is not an uncommon reaction for some cats. She may be shy or skittish around you for a day or two post-vet trip but should start to calm down if you leave her alone and give her space to recover on her own. (Some cats do take a little longer.) As long as she is still eating, drinking, and using the litter box appropriately (both urine and feces), then she should be fine in time. However, if she stops eating or drinking or using the litter box, you need to contact your veterinarian.

Many times, we have to give medication to sedate or anesthetise the cat in order to drain the abscess. These drugs will make them drowsy and sometimes not feel good for a day or two after it wears off. Hiding under the bed for a day would not concern me at this time. If he is otherwise acting normal, then he's probably just getting over the drugs and traumatic experience. It might take him a couple of days before he feels like going back to his normal routine. If something else seems abnormal with him - like he won't eat, drink or respond normally to you - then there could be something else going on and it would be best to take him back to the vet for a check-up. Poor BB! I would recommend putting his litter box, food and water bowls, etc. in the room with the bed and leaving him alone with the door closed for now. He will eventually come out to eat, drink, and use the bathroom when things are quiet and he feels comfortable - many cats wait until nighttime when everyone is asleep to do this. A Feliway pheromone diffuser in the room may also help. It may take a week or two for him to be comfortable enough to come out from under the bed for more than a moment or two, so I would be patient for now and give him time to adjust. Once he's acting normal again, you can transition his food and water bowls, litter box, etc. to wherever you would like them to be in the long term :)

From Gati's point of view moving house is a very scary experience. Cats are very sensitive to stress. Let her hide where she wants and I would suggest putting her things in that room so she feels safe. Make it easy for her to access food water and litter in this room. Give her some space and time and she will become more comfortable and gradually explore the house. You can get diffusers for cats that release pheromones they can help.

I would recommend a full vet check to identify any medical causes for his altered behavior, discomfort and possibly over grooming. I would be concerned about a UTI or cystitis causing pain and a urine sample may be required to investigate further

Some cats are lethargic and less playful when they have fever (I guess that was checked by your vet) or painful condition, for example muscle pain, joint pain, spinal pain and more. If his activity is not back to normal in 2-3 days I would suggest trying a short course of anti-inflammatory medications.
