My cat has a hard, infected breast lump. Is it breast cancer?

Mammary growths in cats have a high chance of being a malignant cancer. Since they are open and draining, they may also be infected It would be best to have a vet check the area to see if surgery is an option to remove them or at least medication to help clean them and clear the infection. Peroxide can actually delay healing after the first use. You are safer with mild soap and water to wipe it clean

Sadly about 85% of masses in cat mammary glands tend to be cancerous. I highly recommend a vet visit so they can examine Tashi. You the can discuss removing the mass for biopsy. The best way to know would be to obtain a sample from the mass and look under the microscope for potential malignant cells. Alternatively, this mass could be removed and submitted for biopsy since it is bleeding and likely causing Diamonds some discomfort. Poor Jaffacake! I am very concerned she may have mammary tumors which are often cancer, and potentially an infectious cat disease causing her breathing issues. If at all possible she really needs a full examination by a vet, blood work to evaluate her internal organ status, and testing for infectious diseases.
