Why is my cat losing hair and getting bald spots after neuter surgery?

Neutering will not cause baldness. Pets can have a bald belly for many reasons. This looks like a shaved area of fur where the IV would have been placed for the procedure. It's difficult to tell the position from the photo, but if this spot is near the crook of the elbow, then that is definitely what it is. Otherwise, the skin looks healthy and the area of hair loss is too neat to be due to any bad causes. I think you are fine to wait and see if it starts growing hair and doesn't have any signs of infection (flakey skin, redness, scabs, pus). Good question about Jack! And all of your answers could be correct. The inner thighs tend to have less hair then other areas in general, but it should not be missing “patches”. Stress causing over grooming, pain, skin allergies, skin infection, and even mites could be attributing to the hair loss. It looks like that spot on top of his head is very irritated and possibly infected. It could be from fleas or from irritation from the E-collar. If this is the only spot and he is not too itchy, you could try putting f some topical antibiotic ointment on it. If it does seem to be bothering him or if he has other similar spots elsewhere on his body, I would recommend taking him in to the vet to be evaluated. They can give you some medication to prevent the hair loss and infection from getting worse.

It is possible the hairball caused the vomiting and some digestive upset. I would continue to monitor Snaer, and see how he does over time and if his appetite returns. If he doesn't return to normal within 24 hours, vomits more, stops eating, or seems painful in his abdomen, bringing him back to your vet for more care is best. You can also try a bland meal or two of plain, boiled chicken (or a little added to his regular food) to help settle his stomach and entice him to eat.

He needs to be seen by a vet. It sounds like he needs some antibiotics to clear up the pus/wounds. It also sounds like he may have fleas or mange if he is losing his hair. Finally, if he has not been vaccinated he could catch disease like feline AIDS or feline leukemia. He may not be showing any symptoms now but those diseases can show up later. Both of those are transmitted by bite wounds from other cats. If he is fighting with other cats he may contact these diseases. The picture is difficult to make out, but it almost looks like a piece of body tissue hanging out. Was he recently neutered?
