Why does my cat have green drool and bad breath that smells like poop?

Bella needs to be examined by the veterinarian today. A bad odor often indicates some sort of infection. This can not only get worse quickly but it can also be painful. It's possible that she may have stomatitis, or she could have an infected tooth, an injury of some kind in her mouth, or even some type of oral tumor. I would recommend taking her to the vet to be seen as soon as possible, since it sounds like she's extremely painful and uncomfortable. Your veterinarian can do a careful oral exam to help diagnose the problem and see what kind of treatment is needed.

You need to take her to the vet ASAP, she is probably suffering from a gum/teeth disease which is very common in cats, treatment varies according to the severity of the condition but this must be dealt with urgently.

Hello. Roxie probably has some significant dental disease, & this is often accompanied by a condition called stomatitis, which is a chronic irritation of the tissues within the mouth. The exact cause is unknown, but it is often multifactorial involving bacterial infections & an abnormal immune system. Your history definitely points to this, but your veterinarian needs to confirm things. Treatment can be relatively simple with antibiotics & periodic use of steroids. Most important will be an initial examination & cleaning of the teeth under general anesthesia. In the worse case, all the teeth may need to be removed because they present an ever presence of antigens in the mouth that promote the painful lesions. It sounds like Sissy may have two issues going on. It's likely she is drooling and has bad breath related to dental infection and dental disease. She will need to see a veterinarian for a dental cleaning and to have infected teeth removed if dental disease is indeed causing the problem. Her skin issues could be related to flea issues so it's best to be sure she is on a quality flea preventative like Revolution or Advantage. I'm wondering if the problem around her anus is due to her anal sacs. They may be infected causing the substance you saw on her fur and bad smell. She could be drooling due to nausea. I would bathe her back end to clean it up, but if it keeps happening, she needs to see a vet for it. Vets are seeing pets for emergencies and illnesses, and this does count. As for the drooling, feed her a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the drooling continues on the bland diet, she refuses to eat the bland diet, she vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away. These are all very concerning signs, she may be developing anemia also have difficulty digesting and absorbing her food resulting in fermentation and odours. I recommend a full physical exam and bloods for liver and kidney function as well as a blood count for anemia as soon as possible
