My cat has bad breath and is drooling. Should I take her to the vet?

Brentney could have a severe infection in her mouth, or could have a foreign caught in the back her of mouth. I would take her into a vet right away, it's concerning to me that it smells like poop, and I would be worried that there may be dead or severely infected tissue in her mouth. She needs a thorough mouth exam by a vet, please take her into one now.

The clear fluid is likely saliva. Hyper salivation can be caused by nausea, pain, dental problems, or exposure to toxins. Because I can't see Bella in person and evaluate her, I'm going to recommend you take her into your vet now to be safe. If she is eating normally, drinking normally, behaving normally, and going to the bathroom normally, you can wait until the morning to bring her. If she has stopped hyper salivating overnight, it's up to you if you want to bring her in for a check, but I would recommend it to be safe.

I am sorry Castor is not feeling well. I would recommend taking Castor to the vet for a really good physical exam. It is possible Castor has a bad tooth, infection in her mouth, upper respiratory infection, or even a problem with her esophagus/stomach. Typically drooling is related to nauseas, hyper salivation, pain in the mouth or trauma to the mouth. It is important she has a good exam to determine the cause and start proper treatment

I suggest taking your cat to your veterinarian or a 24-hour emergency clinic as soon as possible. Excessive drooling in a cat can be a sign of a number of problems including (but not limited to) nausea, dental disease. Ingestion of a toxin, foreign object caught in the mouth, salivary gland disease, ulcers in the mouth, cancer of the mouth, neurological disorders, or eating something that tastes very bad. Excessive drooling is also a symptom of rabies. Many cats will chatter their teeth while watching birds or other prey animals; however, chattering could alos be an indication of pain or neurological in nature.

Hi. It sounds like Oliver has some severe dental disease. He most likely has gingivitis and possibly a painful, loose, or resorptive lesions on some teeth. Dental disease in cats can cause pain and discomfort.  This could impact quality of life. In some cases, the dental disease can cause a cat to stop eating. For dental disease, besides brushing teeth with pet toothpaste daily,  your veterinarian will recommend removing plaque and mineral buildup by scaling and polishing the teeth. Teeth will try to be saved wherever possible. In extreme cases, extraction of teeth might be needed.  Unfortunately a veterinarian will need to be involved. It sounds like Sissy may have two issues going on. It's likely she is drooling and has bad breath related to dental infection and dental disease. She will need to see a veterinarian for a dental cleaning and to have infected teeth removed if dental disease is indeed causing the problem. Her skin issues could be related to flea issues so it's best to be sure she is on a quality flea preventative like Revolution or Advantage. Hello. Roxie probably has some significant dental disease, & this is often accompanied by a condition called stomatitis, which is a chronic irritation of the tissues within the mouth. The exact cause is unknown, but it is often multifactorial involving bacterial infections & an abnormal immune system. Your history definitely points to this, but your veterinarian needs to confirm things. Treatment can be relatively simple with antibiotics & periodic use of steroids. Most important will be an initial examination & cleaning of the teeth under general anesthesia. In the worse case, all the teeth may need to be removed because they present an ever presence of antigens in the mouth that promote the painful lesions.
