My cat fought, has wounds, and is twitching. Is she hurt or in pain?

Poor Luna! Gently clean them with warm water and antiseptic soap. Put her into own room where the dog has no access at all, and make sure she has a litter box and water in there. Hold off on food tonight in case the vet needs to sedate her to treat her wounds. Make her a bed to be comfortable in, and do NOT let her outside. Definitely have her seen by a vet in the morning. Poor Luna! The incident may have caused some internal damage to her throat area or inner ear and may cause her to be painful. I recommend having Luna seen by a vet as soon as possible, who will be able to take some x-rays to see if there is any damage and the extent of it. Poor Peanut! She sounds very painful, and you need to take her into a vet immediately to get checked out and to have pain medication prescribed. You cannot give her any OTC pain medications. Many are toxic to cats, and are fatal if given. Please take her into a vet now.

I would be worried because Squeaky is clearly in pain, and he could have internal injuries. Unfortunately you cannot give him any human pain medications, as many are toxic to cats and are fatal if given. He really should see a vet first thing in the morning. I'm sorry Luna is in pain and limping! Yes, you are correct she could have slipped on the wet floor causing the limping. I would rest her for the next couple of days. Keep her confined to a small room (be sure to put a litter box, food, and water in with her) so she doesn't move as much, and do not allow her outside if she is normally allowed outside. Monitor her, and if she is still limping by Monday, I would take her into the vet for a health check. It's very important not to give her any human pain medications. Many are toxic to cats and are fatal if given. The vet can prescribe her pain medication as needed.

Hi, Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I am sorry to hear Leiu isn't feeling well. I think it is best that she sees a veterinarian based on what you are describing. The twitching and the pain is the most concerning. Causes in an older cat: metabolic issues (liver, kidney failure, diabetes), cancer, pancreatitis, foreign body, or it could just be a virus. I've seen cats twitch when their blood pressure and blood sugar is low. It also could be from different electrolyte abnormalities. Good luck!
