My cat is foaming, lethargic, not eating, and hiding. What's wrong?

Drinking a lot more than usual makes me concerned about an internal problem such as diabetes or kidney disease. I recommend scheduling an appointment as soon as possible. Poor SoCo sounds extremely ill, and the symptoms you are describing are a medical emergency. As a senior cat, he could have many things wrong with him including dental problems, diabetes, kidney failure, hyperthyroidism, liver failure, or cancer among others. He needs veterinary care now to diagnose what is causing all his symptoms so he can be treated. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. Oh my. These are all very serious symptoms, especially for a cat. They can indicate he could have a number of things going on including: a stroke, seizure, vestibular disease or even brain cancer. He should be seen right away by your vet for diagnotic testing (i.e. bloodwork, radiographs) if you want to pursue any possible treatment options for him. Poor guy. If he is limping then I would be concerned about an internal fracture or even infection. I would take him to the hospital right away because if an infection is present you want that treated right away. An infection is possible because of Raymond's symptom of lethargy. Also you want to get him some immediate pain relief if possible.

Unfortunately Ramu's symptoms are very vague and do not point to one specific illness. The dry heaving and vomiting are very concerning. It was my understanding that most vets in the UK are open and taking in emergency and urgent cases. I would consider this an urgent case. Continue offering him water as you have been. You may also want to get him some canned cat food to see if he will eat that. I really cannot recommend any medications without knowing what his underlying problem is. I would stress to the vet that this is an urgent case and he needs to be seen as soon as possible.

Hello Anisa! Limping means he is in pain, and pain could make him lethargic as well. Unfortunately there are no OTC pain medications you can give him, as many human ones are toxic to cats and are fatal if given. I think you should take him into the vet first thing in the morning. The vet can diagnose why he is in pain, and can treat him. I hope this helps!
