Is my cat's swollen gland and chronic discharge from cat flu normal?

Poor guy. I can certainly appreciate a lot of swelling of his conjunctiva and discharge from that left eye. This is typically caused by a viral infection. Since there is improvement with the swelling, I would continue the course of treatment. You should also consider adding in an over the counter antiviral supplement called Lysine powder, which is found at most pet stores. This can help boost up Mischiefs immune system to fight the infection. Hopefully this fully resolved by the end of his treatment course. Ear tumors can certainly lead to chronic upper airway infections in cats, so my guess would be this is caused by the ear tumors, especially if they are polyps because the infiltrate the nasal passage. Poor guy. I would get him on another round of antibiotics soon to help clear up his infection. I would also recommend some bloodwork to ensure his internal organs are healthy as well. Hi. An enlarged lymph node usually is due to infection or inflammation in the area that lymph node drains. The blood and mucous in stool may or may not be related. I would recommend seeing your veterinarian on monday. They will do an exam, a fecal test, an oral exam, and possibly a sample of that lymph node. I would also recommend a feline FELV and FIV test. Swollen glands can be due to a number of things, sometimes they are reacting to an infection, sometimes they swell for no real reason and sometimes it is a cancer called lymphoma. In Albert's case I would not be overly worried as he is so young, but I would definitely have him checked as the vet will know better how much swrlling is significant. He may have an infection that needs treated or the vet may want to sample the lump to get a definite diagnosis.

I can't really get a good idea from the photos what may be going on. The sticky discharge could be coming from the nose, the mouth or perhaps he put his muzzle in something sticky. Gently clean off the area and try to determine the source of the discharge. Also try to note if you are seeing any signs of an upper respiratory tract infection.
