My outdoor cat fought, bleeding, hurt leg. How to get him vet care?

Poor kitty! Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do for him at home except keep him calm, warm, and quiet. Do not give him any human medications, as many are toxic to cats and can be fatal if given. He needs veterinary attention immediately, and there is usually a vet on call after hours for emergencies. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Cats are miraculous healers. The leg could just be sore. I would worry about an abscess forming from the bite. Abscesses required opening them up and antibiotics. The only thing you can do is clean the wounds twice daily with warm water and a mild soap and warm compress the wounds after each cleaning for the next 3-5 days. I wish you the best!

Poor cat! There are no photos attached so I can't see what this wounds look like but I can say that if there is pus, it's infected. However, the best thing you can do is to keep him as quiet as possible for now until you can have him evaluated by a veterinarian. He likely has trauma in multiple places which is why he is so responsive to the touch. Often times after fights they have injuries beyond what you can see from the outside. They would be able to check the extent of the injuries and recommend the best course of action but for now, I recommend that you rest him as much as possible and keep an eye on him to make sure he is ok. Prince may have caused damage to his tail from the itching with the fleas, or some other reason. Whatever the cause was, now that there is a bleeding wound on his tail, I would recommend that you have it treated by a vet as soon as possible. Tip of the tail wounds can be very hard to heal because there is not much blood flow to help with healing. Antibiotics and anti-inflammatories are often needed to help with healing, as well as special bandages to keep the tail protected. Prince may need to wear an e-collar if he is seen licking the tip of his tail, since licking spreads bacteria and decreases the rate of healing. The cost of veterinary care ranges drastically depending on your area and the clinic chosen. You may be able to call different clinics and ask for the cost of an exam, wound treatment, antibiotics, and anti-inflammatories for cats to see what the average cost would be. He definitely must see a vet as he needs an antibiotic injection, i can't recommend any home treatment in this case i'm afraid, it would be irresponsible from my part.
