My cat wants a bite of my pretzel. Can cats eat pretzels safely?

None of those foods are dangerous, but cheese and milk can cause diarrhea and GI upset, and crackers & bread are not very nutritious for cats. Better to stick with little bits of cooked meat. Pistachios are not considered poisonous to cats; however, like all nuts, they do contain fats which can cause gastrointestinal upset in your cat. Also, many nuts are heavily salted which is not good for our pets. Finally, pistachios and their shells can be a choking or intestinal obstruction risk.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I am assuming by corn flakes you mean a human breakfast cereal. It is ok if Felix eats some, it won't hurt him and it's not toxic. It just shouldn't be his main source of nutrition, he should be eating 95% of a balance cat food either canned or dry. But like I said as a treat or by accident if he eats a corn flake it shouldn't hurt him. Hope this helps!

Cats are carnivores, so they can utilize protein and fat better than any carbohydrates. While rice and bread is not toxic for them, they will be more likely to gain weight if they eat too many carbohydrates, so it is best to limit them to small treats only if at all. Be sure the read the label on the cheese chips to make sure there isn't any onion or garlic powder in them which can be toxic for cats. A small amount of plain oatmeal should not be harmful for Sally, as long as there are no added flavorings. Anything with artificial sweeteners or spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg should be avoided, as they can be toxic to cats.

It is not ideal to feed your pets people food like bread however a small amount should be ok and should not harm your cat. If you do decide to give people food as treats, do so in only small amounts. Use foods that are bland and easily digestible (like a small piece of bread) and have low calories. One of the biggest problems with feeding people food to pets is that it can cause them to become overweight. It can also make them picky eaters in the future.

Poor Rascal! I recommend having him skip one meal to allow his stomach time to settle. Continue to offer him fresh water, and if you notice vomiting/diarrhea/ lack of appetite or decreased energy, I recommend seeing your vet.
