My cat just had kittens, has ear mites. How to treat & deworm safely?

I usually do not recommend using Praziquantel in lactating mother cats, Pyrantel Pamoate is usually fine and they can be dewormed from around 4 weeks of age. flea treatment can be given as soon as 2 days of age-- the ONLY safe product is Frontline spray.

Veterinary formula flea and tick shampoo cannot be used on pregnant cats, so do not use it. I would use either Advantage or Revolution, both are safe to use on pregnant cats. The home spray is fine, but do not allow Sophie in the room where you use it until it's completely dry. You can treat the mom with revolution but there are no products labeled for kittens until they are 4 weeks old. I would not place the revolution on 3 day old kittens. all you can safely do for them is bath them in dish soap or baby shampoo and pick them off the babies. Keep the environment clean and treated and by treating the mom, then you can control the problem until they are old enough to have their own medicine

Be very careful buying online, there are a lot of counterfeit products out there! Best thing to do for Kitty is take him into a vet in the morning to get Revolution (treats fleas and ear mites) and Panacur for the worms.

I would not worry about severe reactions as selamectin (Revolution) is an avermectin and can be used after Sentry and Advantage multi without a problem. Avermectins are a different class of acaricide and therefore there will be no overdose when used with the others. Both your kitties should be ok and there should be no adverse reaction re the kittens either.

Wash their bedding in hot soapy water, and vacuum the furniture and carpet surfaces. You can use a spray to kill fleas in the house such as Indorex.. Make sure Miss Kitty and her kittens are away from where you sprayed the flea spray until it is completely dry. As for the kittens, they are too young for flea treatment and do not put anything on them. You can gently bathe them in warm water and Dawn dish soap, using a flea comb to get all the fleas out of their fur. Be sure to dry them completely so they don't get cold.
