The loss of feeling in the tip of the tail may be permanent if there was some damage to the nerves but it should not affect her overtly. If there was nerve damage that could still resolve over time once the inflammation decreases. I would not be too concerned about it after just three days as long as the tissue looks healthy (no wounds, no odor, no discoloration). Hope this helps. Hi there and thanks for posting. Oh dear, I am so sorry to hear Kitty was lost for a few days. That had to be very stressful. Also, I am sorry to hear she came back with a few medical issues. It is hard to say what exactly is going on with Kitty without examining Kitty first, but from your description it seems like Kitty may have injured her pelvis, spine, or rear limbs that may be causing her to not urinate properly or defecate as it may be painful for her or she has some neurological deficits disabling her to have control of her bladder. She could also have a urinary tract infection causing the straining to urinate as well. I would recommend visiting a veterinarian clinic soon so she can get some x-rays and a neurological exam in addition to a regular physical exam. Unfortunately it seems as her tail is limp, which means there is likely to be a fracture of the tail. this is not something that can be repaired, the only medical solution for this condition is tail amputation which will need to be done at some point.

Wow, I'm so sorry he has hit by a car! How horrible for him and you. Dogs can recover from nerve damage, but it can take months for full function to be restored. I'd give it a couple of months to see if things improve.

There is no way to know if or when he will regain control of his body. However, he needs to see a veterinarian. He needs a thorough examination to assess to extend of his neurological problems. He needs to be able to breathe normally, eat and drink and go to the bathroom. Cats can have blood clots that can affect one limb. He needs to be checked for adequate circulation. There may be medications that can help him feel better. I hope this information helps!

So sorry to hear this happened to Oly. If she has been incontinent for the past 4 months with no improvement then I would say that it is not likely she will recover. That being said, there have been some amazing recoveries from nerve injuries like hers with the use of acupuncture. This usually happens when they have lower spine pain and/or had a tail-pull injury. Cats can get their tails caught in things (i.e. under tires, fences) and tend to struggle a lot, which can cause further injury to the muscles, ligaments and nerves. These types of injuries tend to heal well over a few weeks. You can apply ice to the area fro 15 minutes twice a day to help take down the inflammation. It's best to take Oberin to a veterinarian in order to get pain medication and an accurate diagnosis of the problem,. I hope that helps and Oberin gets better soon.
