Can dry ice from food deliveries harm my cat or make food unsafe?

As long as he does not ingest the dry ice itself there shouldn't be any problems, although i would not recommend to put dry ice in his water bowl. the dry ice itself isn't toxic but a large piece can cause an obstruction.

The procedure of freeze drying is safe, but not necessary or any better for a cat food. My first question would be whether it's nutritionally adequate. In order for a food to be nutritionally adequate it must have gone through a diet trial, or was formulated based on know nutritional requirements. It contains xylitol, which is toxic to cats. I would not let him have any licks of it, and if you drink it outside the house, that's fine and he will be safe. I hope this helps!

Hi there! Dry food isn't a concern with being left out, it's the wet food that's a problem. In the heat, that can certainly go bad quicker than it would in the summer. It's absolutely fine to put the leftover food back into the dry food container. I leave food out for my cats all the time, I use a self feeder and I haven't had any problems with the food rotting whether it's summer or winter :-)

Buying cat food from a sealed bag is definitely best. I don't recommend buying from an opened sack. You did a great job by putting the food in an airtight container and I would keep doing that after you open a sealed sack to keep the food stored fresh. Hope this helps. Great question!

Try giving her another brand of wet food, such as Fancy Feast, or warm up her regular wet food. Freeze Dried is not wet food and I would be concerned about bacterial contamination. You may also want to have her teeth and mouth checked by your veterinarian.

It contains menthol, which should be harmless, but it also contains salicylates, which are essentially the same as aspirin. This is potentially harmful to a cat, especially their GI tract and kidneys. Unfortunately I don't have any information about dosage - how much is definitely dangerous. I would contact an emergency clinic in your area, who can contact the Animal Poison Control line run by the ASPCA - they will hopefully have some information about previous Icy Hot ingestions in cats and they should be able to guide you.
