My cat won't eat wet food. Is freeze-dried safe to feed her?

The procedure of freeze drying is safe, but not necessary or any better for a cat food. My first question would be whether it's nutritionally adequate. In order for a food to be nutritionally adequate it must have gone through a diet trial, or was formulated based on know nutritional requirements. In order to find this out, you will have to research the food a little more. Different countries will have different or no requirements for the company to show that the food is nutritionally adequate. Wilkie good stay on the cat food if it all possible as this in shores he's getting the appropriate vitamins, minerals and proteins. If he's been checked out and there's no dental issues going on then you can try continuing with the wet food and may even try warming it up slightly as that entices cats to eat. You could also try adding warm low-sodium chicken broth to his dry food to see if that helps get him to eat better.I would be concerned about tooth root abscesses that can only be detected with the dental x-ray given his history.

Try to feed Fancy Feast, various fishy flavors, warm the food in the microwave. Hand feed her. use the wet food as a treat, so she thinks it is a treat. Have her teeth checked by the vet, she may have a tooth ache. or severe gingivitis.

If she is generally fussy, I wouldn't be too concerned that she has stopped eating her wet food as long as she's eating her dry cat food. It's very important that she eats, and it may be that if you've given her a different flavor of Whiskas, she simply doesn't like it and doesn't want to eat it. If she does stop eating food altogether, then I would be worried and I would have her seen by a vet.

It is not unusual for cats to at some point get bored of their diet just needing a change to continue to eat well. You may add canned tuna to the food which may increase her appetite. Try mixing together the wet food and the dry food to see if Elaine will eat. If she won't eat this, then take her into a vet right away. It's quite serious when a cat won't eat, and it requires immediate vet attention. Best of luck.

If Christian is doing well ont he Fancy Feast, I would just continue with this, as it is a safe food and as long as he doesn't have any other health issues should be fine if he is eating it well. I would, however, recommend having him examined by a vet to ensure there isn't a reason he stopped eating hard food such as oral pain, and also as a senior pet it is recommended to have a check up and bloodwork yearly. Canned/wet food is actually ideal for cats due to the fact that they often don't get enough water through drinking so the wet food is better for urinary tract healthy, but any time we have a change in appetite, it should be investigated!
