My cat might have diabetes. What can I safely give her to help?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Female | spayed | 10 years and 2 months old | 6 lbs

I live in the boonies and can't get my cat to vet for a day. What can I give her for suspected diabetes that could help her and won't hurt her until I can get her to the doc

There are no OTC medications you can safely give for diabetes. Make sure Tiny is eating regularly and has plenty of fresh water. Your veterinarian will likely submit bloodwork after an exam to diagnose diabetes or other condition.
