My cat cries when touched between legs after a cat jumped on her.

The chance that there is a blood clot contributing to these clinical signs is very unlikely. Typically, when something like this happens, your cat would be in absolutely uncontrollable pain, screaming and crying like nothing you have every heard. You might also notice that the feet and limbs are noticeable cold. This doesn't sound like the case. In all likelihood, Autumn simply sprained or strained something and is now experiencing some discomfort as a result. One other cause of shifting or sporadic lameness in the limbs are tick borne diseases such as Lyme disease. While these are far more common in dogs, they can definitely occur in cats as well. Depending on your geographic region, the type of tick borne diseases that are most common will vary considerably. Hope this makes sense. Get Autumn into the vet for some examination if the symptoms don't subside in the next day or so. Just don't try and give any over the counter pain medication at home as there are none that are safe for cats.

Hi and thanks for posting. Cats do not show pain like we do and they do a great job at hiding it. If she is making noise when you touch the leg, then it means she is in pain. Bella could have a fractured leg or pelvis. She may also have a ligament tear or other injury. I would recommend Bella see her veterinarian to have an exam and x-rays to help determine what the injury is where it is so she can get treatment and start feeling better soon.

I think that if this is a consistent finding meaning that Phoenix continues to be like that today and again tomorrow, it is very important to have him evaluated by a veterinarian as it could be something serious causing him pain. It could be pain from one of his ribs or perhaps referred pain from his abdomen. Hopefully this goes away but if not a visit to your veterinarian is indicated. Good luck and have a great day!

It sounds like something caused her pain. Sometimes cats can get their toe nails caught in carpeting. This can lead to a torn nail, sprained toe or leg injury. I would get her seen by your vet to make sure this is nothing serious. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. I am also available via consultation if needed.

Poor Tom! Without seeing him I cannot say for sure what he has injured. He could have simply sprained a muscle or broke a toenail. Unfortunately, he could have also broken a bone. I would strongly recommend to have your vet take a look at him. Your vet will be able to localize the pain and take x-rays if needed. They will be able to get him started on pain meds and the proper treatment plan to help him feel better. I hope this helps!

Not sure if he goes outside but if he does I would suspect that he has been in a fight with another cat or wild animal and now has developed an infection/abscess. I would advise taking him to your vet immediately to get him evaluated. Not sure if he has a rabies shot either. Your vet can evaluate him after gathering a history and can advise you on what to do. If it's from a fight or bite wounds, he may have to be sedated to explore the injuries further. Treatment may include antibiotics, pain meds, etc. If a bone injury is suspected, x-rays may be needed. If a fight is suspected a rabies shot or booster may be advised also. Good luck with Squishy.

Lying down a lot and reacting to touch indicates that Oi is likely in pain. Please make an appointment to have Oi seen by a vet as soon as possible. These symptoms could be due to a muscular or nerve injury, a fractured bone, trauma, a mass, or a foreign body in the paw or leg. Some infectious diseases and joint diseases such as arthritis or joint infection can cause limping and gait changes as well. Your vet can assess Oi by doing a physical exam, and will make recommendations for further diagnostics/ treatments as needed. Pain medications meant for humans can be very dangerous and even deadly for cats due to toxicity, so I do not recommend giving any to Oi without consulting with your vet.
