What is the clear jelly on my cat's paw pads after being outside?

Hi, in the first picture it looks like there could be a bit of infection as the fluid seems cloudy. Looking at the second one the skin lesion looks more like podo dermatitis, an inflammation of Jeff's pad. I think it is worthy to have hm checked over, in order to get some medications and help him towards a speedy recovery. If you don't take him to see your vet, his foot will continue to get worse and every time he puts his foot down to walk he will be in a lot of pain. I think your vet will not need to run tests but just give him some medications and therefore cost should be limited. Cats are extremely sensitive to their paws, so she will definitely be painful and crying for a while. I cannot tell the extent of the damage from the pictures, but I would need to physically see the cat in order to have a better idea. The biggest worry is that something was broken. A broken bone will cause her to not walk and will cause a great amount of swelling. If you notice this, then she should go to the vet for treatment. Otherwise, she could have been bruised, which will cause some limping for a few days. You can help relieve some of the swelling and pain by gently applying ice, or ice water to the affected areas for 15 minutes twice a day. I do not recommend giving any medication, because human pain meds can be especially dangerous if given to cats. If Savanna is still very painful by tomorrow morning, then I recommend taking her to a vet for an evaluation. They will be able to get an idea of the extent of the damage and provide better pain control. I hope that helps and Savanna gets better soon.

There is a disease call "plasma cell pododermatitis" that affects the footpads of cats, making them swell and sometimes crack. It's poorly understood, but believed to be an autoimmune disease. Treatment usually consists of a specific antibiotic (doxycycline) which somehow regulates the immune system (again, we don't understand why) and drugs to suppress the immune system (prednisolone or cyclosporine). Sometimes we have to bandage the feet temporarily to help with the pain and to aid healing. Soldier may also need pain medication for a time until he is more comfortable. Your vet should be able to diagnose this condition and start treatment. Good luck.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Haku. I recommend that he sees a veterinarian. His paw looks sore. Did he sustain any trauma? If it is not a wound, then he could have another issue such as an autoimmune skin disease or even an infection such as ringworm. The veterinarian will thoroughly examine him and may recommend skin testing to reach a diagnosis. In the meantime, do not let him licl or chew on the pad. Place an E-collar on him if necessary. Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your concern. The cut appears to be all of the way through the paw pad on the affected foot. I would suggest having this wound looked at by your vet if you can so that Bobbi can receive antibiotics and receive proper treatment. However, if you are unable to get to your vet, you could try and keep the foot clean using a diluted Betadine solution (mix Betadine with saline to get a weak brown tea color) and use this to clean the Wound. I would then switch to a different litter such as yesterday's news so that he is not getting fine litter sand in the wound. I would monitor the area for signs of swelling and discharge as this is going to be highly prone to infection. If you notice any signs of infection I would get him to your vet as soon as possible. He will need to be seen by a vet of course as he must be given antibiotics and pain killers, but in the meantime you can clean the area, put some antiseptic or antibiotic cream on it and bandage it. i understand it will not be easy nut this is the only thing you can do to help him without seeing a vet.
