Cat broken pelvis: Is surgery recovery too painful, or should I put her down?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

My cat broke her pelvis and we’re going to get her the surgery but our neighbor who was a vet tech said we would be helping her if we just put her down because the recovery from the surgery will be slow and painful what should I do

I don't find that to be the case at all. Most cats heal very well and quickly after surgery. Ultimately it is up to you on how you wish to proceed but I personally would do the surgery.

Hope this helps. Best wishes.
