My cat has botulism and is getting worse. What should I do now?

If Boxer is not improving and is not eating or drinking, I would recommend taking him back to the veterinarian for a recheck and having anti-nausea medications and fluids given to see if this helps further. If he continues to not eat, he may need a feeding tube if his liver becomes affected. I hope this helps! I would avoid giving Calpol as cats are very sensitive to this drug and can develop toxicity quite easily. There are safer fever reducers such as Meloxicam that you can have your veterinarian prescribe for you. I hope this helps! It is very hard to say what is the problem, as the symptoms she is showing are specific to one particular disease. I could be due to intoxication, kidney or liver disease, heart failure and many more. Extreme weakness, low body temperature and problem with the balance all suggest potentially a life-threatening problem, so please call your nearest vets right away

If he is not eating much that can cause him to attempt to vomit but not bring anything up. The veterinarian may recommend doing further diagnostics such as bloodwork or xrays to figure out what is wrong with Winnie. Viral disease, toxin ingestion, GI blockage can all cause illness with vomiting, so Winnie really needs further diagnostics for the best chance at successful treatment. Hello. Unfortunately, the symptoms you describe are pretty vague & can really fit with a lot of things. I do not know how much veterinary care is available in your country, or even what diseases are present, but it sounds like Poufpouf needs antibiotics at the least, & then have some diagnostic bloodwork done, too. This might include a complete blood count, serum chemistry analysis, urinalysis & tests for feline leukemia & aids. This is what I would recommend if you lived in the US. This is definitely concerning that he is having life-threatening complications. Laying on the side with front legs outstretched often indicates brain damage, which can happen when the brain is starved of oxygen, or severely damaged due to the infection. Without professional treatment, Nicky may not survive this. If there is an emergency veterinarian in your area, then I'd recommend taking him there as soon as possible to give him the best chance at survival. It definitely sounds like BoBo has an upset tummy. I am concerned about the amount of vomiting and diarrhea that you have described. Possible causes for this to happen acutely include bacterial or viral gastroenteritis, pancreatitis, toxic exposure, intestinal obstruction, dietary intolerance or food allergy (this would happen if he ate human food he shouldn't have or if you recently changed food or treats), irritable bowel syndrome, intestinal lymphoma, or other internal medicine issues. I think that BoBo should see a vet as soon as possible to start with bloodwork and maybe x-rays depending on the findings of the physical exam. Before you go, check around the house for anything that BoBo may have chewed on, like hair ties, string, carpet, or chemicals. You are right in not feeding BoBo anything, but encourage him to drink water, chicken broth, or pedialyte to try to maintain hydration. Cats can also get electrolyte imbalances soon after having voluminous vomiting or diarrhea. Depending on test results, your vet may prescribe medications for nausea, diarrhea, or even antibiotics and gastroprotectants. If the bloodwork shows severe abnormalities or the symptoms persist despite medications, BoBo may need IV fluids to rehydrate him and correct electrolyte abnormalities. Hello. I think that Robin should be rechecked as soon as possible. Since he has not improved, some more thorough investigating needs to be done. He likely needs to have a more thorough exam of his mouth and throat while under anesthesia. He should also have an X-ray taken.
